Instagram is Your New Shopping Navigator

The most popular image-sharing app Instagram has been increasingly growing as the platform now has hundreds of millions of users along with tons of celebrities and media influencers. Recently, the developers of Instagram stated that this year there’ll be more enhancements to the platform with more focus on the major strengths. Shopping through Instagram has been undeniably one of its major strengths over the last few years; users of the platform are exposed daily to innumerable brands, services and products and they can shop anything via a link. So, Instagram recently announced that more shopping enhancements are going to be unveiled in the upcoming months.

The platform is planning to improve window-shopping and direct purchasing of any product with no need to “Swipe Up”. By the start of March, officials at Instagram confirmed that the app is going to allow the users to buy anything directly via the app very soon.

Initially, Instagram is going to test a new shopping feature labeled “Checkout” in partnership with many brands and fashion labels – such as Nike and Revolve – in order to determine its efficacy. An Instagram official mentioned that the app is indeed seeking to benefit from the growing number of users, and at the same time present people with what they currently need: instant and fun shopping. The new “Checkout” shopping feature is designed to make shopping via Instagram easier with no need for external website links. The main shopping criterion of Instagram has been to “Swipe Up” to be directed to the brand’s website. The upcoming enhancements, however, are going to simplify the Instagram shopping experience in 2019. And as for the financial and payment requirements, they’re expected to be officially revealed in the next months.

The upgrade of the Instagram shopping services comes naturally as the platform is palpably expanding across the world and its millions of users are continuously following brands and influencers who promote innumerable products and services. Facebook has been diligently trying to amp up its overall e-commence plans, but the blue app isn’t as sufficient as Instagram at the moment. Instagram stated that the upcoming shopping plans are going to turn the platform into the number one online shopping destination; millions of users are already using the platform to search for specific products – services – and purchase them; the app is, reportedly, used by more than 130 million people per month. And as for the payment, users will likely pay via the usual ways such as PayPal or MasterCard.
