Bullet Messaging, or Zidan Duanxin in Chinese was launched on Aug. 20, on the Chinese iOS App Store. Since its launch, the app has been the most downloaded free app on the store. Although it seemed next to impossible that any app would ever be able to replace WeChat’s supremacy, the Bullet Messaging app has gained phenomenal success since its launch.

Promoted as fast as bullet and a means of effective communication, Bullet Messaging was launched on August 20. Following the amazing response of the app in the Chinese iOS App Store, the experts are now wondering if the app has in it to take on the popularity of WeChat. Smartisan recently confirmed that Bullet Messaging app has collected a revenue of 150 million yuan or $22 million in the initial round of funding.
The Bullet Messenger app sports a blue-and-white colored logo that looks very similar to Facebook Messenger. The biggest selling point of the app is that it solves some of the common issues that people face on WeChat. The users on the WeChat platform have to click on a transcription button to view the text, however WeChat does away that step by using an automatic voice-to-text feature supported by iFlytek.
Text, Audio & Video Messages
The video messages on Bullet Messenger app also comes with an audio progress bar that allows users to skip and get to a specific point in the message instead of having to listen to the entire voice message once again. Another common issue with WeChat messages is that they can last only for up to one minute.
The users can also use the Bullet Messenger app to send voice messages by simply clicking on the small microphone icon located beside the recipient’s name. There is also a function that reminds a user about a contact by showing the initial messages exchanged.
Luo Yonghao, the founder of Smartisan, said that that the Bullet Messanger app focuses on the efficiency of communication. Luo said that instead of aiming to take on WeChat, the app aims at offering a super efficient messaging app for those who care about speed.
